DESCRIPTION
Working under the direction of the Senior Program Operations Manager the Researcher provide research leadership, program evaluation, quality improvement and evidenced based planning to ensure that MBTelehealth meets the needs of patients, health care providers, educators and other consumers in the most effective manner. The Researcher provides key information to support MBTelehealth to implement program improvements and support evidenced based planning, decision making and research.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, Educational and Informational Reporting Leadership
- Design and supervise evaluation and research of network activities
- Development of new and innovative network applications
- Obtain funding for research activities
- Main contact for researchers
- Remains up to date with health technologies and trends through research and discussion with other researchers and professionals
- Pursues professional and personal development through vehicles such as continuing education and training, research, literature reviews, and workshops
- Performs other related job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in a health related discipline, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
- Formal education in Business Administration, Computer Science, Project Management or a related field an asset
- Masters preparation in the above or related fields an asset
- 5 years experience directly related experience
- Ability to design and develop evaluation and research instruments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other researchers and with a variety of technical administrative and clinical professionals.
- Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Familiarity with multiple computer programs for word processing, database development, spread sheets.
- Experience with Continuous Quality Improvement or Business Process Reengineering methodologies preferred.
- Experience in Project Management and demonstrated knowledge of the Project Management’s Institute’s (PMI) project management framework.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and instructional skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet scheduled deadlines
- Experienced and comfortable consulting with senior management
- Knowledge of telecommunications technology and telehealth technology is an asset; interest in technology is a must
- Project Management training an asset
- Skill in using personal computer, Outlook, Microsoft Word, MS Project and other applications such as Excel, Visio and Crystal Reports
- Active registration with the applicable professional body
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required
