DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Regional Supervisor, Desktop Services, e-Health Services, the incumbents will be responsible for providing second level technical support to the computer-user community of the WRHA. The candidates must demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy as an integral member of the e-Health Technical Support Team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: computer hardware/software installations and moves, inventory management as well as on-going system support and user orientations. Environment: consists of Netware 6.X, Windows NT/2000/2003 Server, Citrix MetaFrame, ZENworks, MS SQL, Windows 98/2000/XP workstation, MS Office 2000/XP/03 Pro, GroupWise, Exchange and custom in-house applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of high school education or equivalent, Manitoba standards.
- Successful completion of a two-year computer analyst course (e.g. Red River College) or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of computer hardware. A+ Certification considered an asset.
- Novell or Microsoft designations considered assets.
- Minimum two years related experience in a client support role.
- Strong working knowledge of NetWare Administration, ZENworks, Imaging, GroupWise and Exchange Administration, Netware\GroupWise\Exchange & Outlook client, MS Office, MS SQL, LAN and WAN networking principles.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills; resolve problems using an analytical, methodical approach.
- Experience in providing end user training of standard desktop applications such as MS Office and business e-mail systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Technical documentation skills considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in BlackBerry hardware and software support in an enterprise environment an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in BlackBerry account management on a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute in a team environment.
- Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Shift and weekend work may be required.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
