这是学生会想在UM ICS 放捐款箱的时候我们写的一个东西,让Professor改了一下。不知道你想在哪里捐款,如果不是学校,把称谓和第二大段去掉,应该差不多可以用的。

Call for Donation to the China Earthquake Victims
May 20, 2008
Dear Students and Employees of the University of Manitoba:
As many of you are aware, a massive earthquake, measured 8.0 on the Richter scale, hit Sichuan Province of China on May 12. The devastating earthquake left more than 40,000 people dead, and more than 250,000 people wounded. More than 32,000 people are still reported missing. Many of the victims were school-age children, elderly and women. Several towns were flattened in seconds. Millions of people lost their homes and are in immediate need of shelters and basic supplies. The catastrophic situation is still unfolding and financial assistance is urgently needed.
In response to the tremendous need, the University of Manitoba Students’ Union (UMSU) and the University of Manitoba Chinese Students and Scholars Association (UMCSSA) are calling for financial donations across the campus to the Sichuan earthquake victims. Two donation boxes will be placed at the International Centre for Students of the University Centre; one marked the Canadian Red Cross and the other the Red Cross Society of China. You may choose any one, or both, of these organizations to donate. Please leave your name, address, and the amount of money you have donated for receipt purposes. Donation through the Canadian Red Cross is tax deductible, and a receipt will be mailed to you directly from the Canadian Red Cross. The donation through the Red Cross Society of China is not tax deductible; however, a receipt will be issued from the UMSU/UMCSSA.
Donation can also be made directly via the Canadian Red Cross website (http://www.redcross.ca; Tel. 1-800-418-1111), or via bank transfer to the Red Cross Society of China (http://www.redcross.org.cn/english/index.htm).
Every penny helps! Five dollars alone could provide a homeless kid with a blanket from the cold night.
Natural disaster knows no boundary. Let us all share the pain, and show our support of the victims.
Thank you!
